Deleted Mid-Credit Scene from Deadpool 3: Kangs, Shang-Chi’s Rings, and the X-Men

Marvel originally had an intense mid-credit scene planned for Deadpool 3, featuring an epic moment between Deadpool, Wolverine, and the Council of Kangs. The scene was set to build upon the larger Multiverse Saga and involve key elements from Shang-Chi and Ms. Marvel, along with a haunting portrayal of the X-Men. While this scene was ultimately scrapped, here’s what Marvel had in store for fans.

The Discovery of Shang-Chi’s 10 Rings and Ms. Marvel’s Nega-Bands

In the original script, the Council of Kangs is shown uncovering the locations of two significant artifacts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Shang-Chi’s mystical 10 Rings and Ms. Marvel’s powerful Nega-Bands. These items were set to play an important role in the Multiverse saga, connecting various stories and characters.

The Kang Amphitheater: A Dark Ritual

The mid-credit scene was intended to transport viewers to a dark and ominous Kang amphitheater. Here, legions of Kangs, all clad in battle armor, kneel in unison. Their eyes are rolled back, lost in a trance-like state, as they participate in an ancient, menacing ritual.

A withered, old Kang Priest variant—distinguished by his glowing red eyes—leads the Kangs in a haunting, wailing chant, spoken in a mysterious, ancient language. As the ritual intensifies, Kang soldiers pass bowls of blood among themselves, drinking in a ceremonial manner that symbolizes their twisted devotion to power and conquest.

The Horrifying Sight of the Crucified X-Men

As the camera pans to the main altar, a gruesome scene is revealed: upside-down 'X'-shaped crosses. Blood flows from the crucified figures of Professor X, Magneto, Wolverine, Cyclops, and other iconic X-Men. These prisoners are variants from across different timelines, and many were recognizable from Fox’s X-Men movies, including Days of Future Past, First Class, X2, and The Last Stand.

This chilling tableau was meant to show the Council of Kangs' utter domination over the Multiverse, capturing and torturing powerful mutants as they sought ultimate control. It was a dark, dramatic moment that would have deeply affected audiences, reminding them of the terrifying potential of the Kang dynasty.

Why the Scene Was Cut

While this mid-credit scene had the potential to set up huge stakes for the MCU, it was ultimately left out of the final cut of Deadpool 3. Reasons for the removal could include pacing, tone, or simply Marvel deciding to take a different narrative direction. However, fans can still speculate about the scene’s implications and what it could have meant for the future of the X-Men, Shang-Chi, and Ms. Marvel within the Multiverse saga.

Final Thoughts

Although this mid-credit scene didn't make it to the screen, it offers a fascinating glimpse into what Marvel had envisioned for the expansion of the MCU. The eerie portrayal of the Kang amphitheater and the tragic fate of the X-Men variants would have set a dark and exciting tone for what’s to come. As Marvel continues to explore the Multiverse and its many possibilities, fans can expect more surprises, twists, and connections to unfold.
